Both teams add KO Cup to League titles

The Corsham Academy U13 (Wolves) and U15 XIs triumphed in their respective final ties of the Bath & District Youth League Knockout Cup held at Brislington CC on August Bank Holiday Monday to record memorable doubles, having already finished as Champions of their respective divisions in the league.

Corsham Wolves set their opponents (Hampset Harriers) a target of 127 thanks to excellent partnerships between Flynn Day and Theo Todhunter, and in the final two overs by Tom Swain and Lily Day. Tight bowling from Angus and Ed Bollen, Chris Monelle, Theo Laver, Rhys Millard, Lily Day and Tom Swain, backed up by excellent fielding saw Hampset restricted to 87 for 6 to take the Champion's Trophy.

The U15s were set a similar total by their opponents, Brislington, in the U15s Final but in a nail-biting end to the match, the target was reached thanks to the cool head of Will Sayers to hand the Cup to Corsham to join the U15 R2 Division League title already secured.

Congratulations to both teams on their successes, and to League Secretary, Jon Flagg, and the Brislington Club for hosting a memorable day.

A video montage of photos taken during the U13s match is now available to view (best viewed in full screen).
