As part of our newly formed talent pathway partnership with Gloucestershire Cricket, Wiltshire Cricket is delighted to announce that it will be holding coach development workshops in the first part of 2019 whereby qualified coaches in Wiltshire will be able to pick up tips from some of the best in the business. These workshops are open to any qualified coach in the county and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Spin Bowling Masterclass with Richard Dawson
Date – Monday 18th February 2019
Time – 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Venue – Dauntsey’s School
Cost - £10 per participant

Current Gloucestershire CCC Head Coach Richard Dawson will be running a unique insight into the spin bowling and the challenges of coaching this skill. As an ex England off spinner Richard will offer a unique insight into coaching young spinners. Richard’s philosophy is simply “get the basics right and look to spin it”. The workshop will demonstrate drills and practice to help young bowlers perfect the art of spin bowling. A must for coaches looking to coach both finger and wrist spin.

Fast Bowling Masterclass with Mark Thorburn
Date – Monday 11th March 2019
Time – 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Venue – Dauntsey’s School
Cost - £10 per participant

Mark is currently Head of Fast Bowling at Gloucestershire CCC and oversees the running of the fast bowling programme throughout the performance pathway and has gained a reputation as a first-class coach. Mark will be communicating his observations on some of the common issues in young fast bowlers and will offer insight into how coaches can help young fast bowlers work on some of the key basics found in all the great fast bowlers.

Batting Masterclass with Tim Hancock
Date – Monday 25th March 2019

Cost - £10 per participant

Gloucestershire’s Head of Talent Pathway will be running a batting workshop for coaches with the aim of exploring how coaches can use performance goals to help players notice and work on good batting basics. Tim will introduce some fundamentals which he believes is the key to underpinning good batsmanship and explore with coaches some innovative methods of passing these on to young players.
