Sadly our girls suffered resounding defeats in the semi-final and 3rd/4th place play-off in the Lady Taverners T20 KO Competition at a rain affected Thursday 30th July at Grantham CC, Lincolnshire.
Lady Taverners treated the girls to an overnight stay at a luxury hotel prior to their semi-final against Corbridge CC, winners of Group 1 of the competition.
Batting first our girls reached 54 for 6 in 12 overs, the winning target being reached by Corbridge without loss.
The Competiton Final was won by J&G Meakin CC who defeated Wanstead & Snaresbrook CC in the other semi-final.
In the 3rd/4th play-off, Wanstead and Snaresbrook were bowled out for 151, with Corsham Girls reaching 39 for 6.
Despite the defeat, Lily Day and her team are to be congratulated on reaching the National Finals day at the first time of entry.
